It has been nine years since Kawasaki pulled the sheet off its Mule PRO lineup with there being no significant updates since then other than cosmetic changes. Change is now upon us because Kawasaki has unveiled a significantly updated Mule PRO with a 1000 engine. Yes, we say hello to the Mule Pro 1000. No window dressing here but a significant list of updates to the platform, most significantly the obvious powertrain upgrade to a parallel twin-cylinder Kawasaki built 999cc engine. All of the laundry list of updates make what has already been a great utility-recreation side-by-side that much better with us giving all of these changes a big “thumbs up”. The list includes the new more powerful engine, longer suspension travel, more ground clearance, self-leveling rear suspension, and improved access to service points along with new front grille styling. The guts of these changes to the suspension and engine make the Mule PRO competitive with other utility-rec industry offerings. We have always appreciated the ride and capability of the Mule PRO lineup with it’s 2000 LB towing capacity and large 1000 LB cargo bed. The updates make the Mule PRO more trail capable which is a welcome thing. Still wish it had a front diff lock option though! The entire press release is below.

Join me in a dreaming moment here and envision this – you’re cruising down backroads caked in red dirt (does Brooks & Dunns “Red Dirt Road” song come to mind here?). You’ve got the tunes on low, your road trip buddy is next to you, some delicious chips and snacks are scattered between you, and wild horses are cruising right next to your vehicle. There is literally NO ONE around for miles, it’s just you, your significant other, your truck and wild horses…. Come out of your dream state now, my friends. Now that is what Utah backroad cruising is all about.
The backroads of central and southern Utah provide a great place to get that “lost” feeling as the long stretches of asphalt wind through small towns, past unnamed trails, and through seemingly endless farms.

This past spring, we ditched our desks and computers for adventure. The itch was back, and we were ready to scratch it. We packed as much gear as we could into our Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO and made our way through those Utah backroads. We started in the “main” city of Moab then ventured onto some not-so-main highways, such as Highway 24, Highway 12, the ever-popular Highway 89, and, finally, Highway 9 through Zion National Park area. Each road has its twists and turns that make it special, and the endless stretches of highway beg you to stop for a minute (or an hour) to enjoy the beautiful red-rock scenery around you.
A Utah road trip is one of those bucket list things you need to do at least once in your lifetime. For every place we stopped along this route, there are thousands more epic adventures to enjoy in this area. Take an open mind with you, and don’t hesitate to “take the long way home”... Also, plan on purchasing an $80 National Park Pass that will allow you to get into the Nationa

At the far North end of the Grand Canyon, at the place where an unassuming dirt runway and long winding dirt road collide, lies the gateway to an ATV and UTV riders’s dream of adventure and exploration, and views that burn in one’s mind for a lifetime. This place is the land of rugged terrain, vast canyons, raging rivers, and the place outlaws ran for solace from “the law”. This place embodies everything the American West stands for, and to this day appeals to those wishing to experience the adventure and excitement offered by the Old West. This is the Arizona strip and this gateway is named the Bar 10 Ranch.
About Bar 10 Ranch
Bar 10 Ranch was founded in the early 1970’s by retired electrician turned cowboy Tony Heaton. He and his wife Ruby, bought small ranches until they acquired just over 10,000 deeded acres with another 200,000 acres of grazing rights on BLM and Arizona State lands. The Bar 10 not only continues to thrive as a working cattle ranch but also as a place to experience the adventure of old west, whether it be on ATVs or other vehicles, white water rafting, or horseback riding, or just a place to get away from everything (and I mean everything) of the modern day! The Heaton family continues to own the ranch, with Gavin and Kelly Heaton and their families taking the “reins” of the day to day work of running the Bar 10 Ranch. One thing you can expect from each and every encounter had at the Bar 10 Ranch is warm friendly hospitality from the Heaton family that sticks with you long after you leave.

Experiencing the Ranch
There are so many things the rustic and remote Bar 10 Ranch has to offer, with ATV & UTV riding just the tip of the enormous iceberg. Start with the ranch lodge offering comfortable accommodations, down home old west

Kawasaki announced many of its 2023 models in mid May with most models returning with no real changes other than colors for the 2023 model year in the Brute Force, Teryx, and Mule lineups. There was a "new" model announced with the addition of the 2023 Teryx4 S Special Edition. More models are to be announced June 7th, and it looks like some more side-by-sides are on that list. Below is a breakdown of the 2023 Models that have been revealed so far.
Teryx Family
There is really only one "new model" to the Teryx4 models and that model is the Teryx4 S LE. Though the stats are the same for previous and current year's Teryx S models, the package includes a perimum high-grade audio system with 4 speakers, a 160 watt internal amp with a compact AM/FM/Bluetoooth/USB stero unit, a WARN 3500LB winch, tri-tone seats, and special colors and graphics. The rest of the models are the same as previous years with no real changes other than color and graphics. It is interesting to note that so far in these releases Kawasaki has dropped a mid and top trim models in the original suspension width non-S models and moved to mid to top trim models in the S models only. The only available model with 60-inch original width is in the base models.
Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000
There are no changes to the KRX 1000 models to speak of so far for 2023. It looks like that will change on June 6th when Kawasaki announces what looks to be a Teryx KRX 1000 4-Seat model, so we will see. There are of course color and graphic changes for 2023. Same 999cc parallel-twin engine, 14.8 inches of ground clearance, dual-a-arm front suspension and 4-link trailing-arm rear suspension, and overall heavy duty build. This is one of our favorite pure sport side-by-sides.

You did it! You took the plunge and bought a new (or new to you) side-by-side. So what now? While many owners have their own list of the accessories to add to their rig, many new side-by-side owners may not know where to start. With so many options it can be overwhelming as to where to start. We have put a list together of the most common and equally important side-by-side accessories available to give you a place to start. Of course there are so many accessories to offer both to increase your side-by-side’s capability, tailor your ride to the kind of riding you plan to do, and of course to make your side-by-side unique to you. We are always here to answer questions or help in any way, so just reach out to us. Let’s get started.

1. Roof
Nothing is more important or common on a side-by-side than a roof. Whether it's protecting you from the rain, hail, sleet, and snow, or just keeping the sun off of your back, a roof is a “must-have” for any and all side-by-sides. While many side-by-side models come standard with a roof, there are many roofs available for all models of side-by-sides. The two most common roofs available are made of either plastic or aluminum with most models offering each of these as an option. On occasion a steel model might be available for certain models though it is pretty uncommon. Aluminum roofs are in many cases available in a variety of colors to get the look you want. No matter what model side-by-side you call your own, and no matter what you use it for or the terrain you tackle, a roof is a must.
