Kawasaki just dropped a rock-crawling specialist into the KRX 1000 family, and it’s not shy about its mission. The KRX 1000 Rock Edition arrives factory-equipped for technical climbs and rugged desert lines: sticky 32-inch Roxxzilla tires on beadlocks, a slightly broadened stance for stability and wheel placement, beefed-up underbody protection, and a WARN winch for when the trail fights back. It keeps the proven 999cc twin and CVT with centrifugal clutch for ultra-smooth, low-speed control, then wraps it all in bold two-tone styling that looks right at home in the rocks. It has everything we would want on a dedicated rock-crawling side-by-side straight from the factory, so good for Kawasaki to add this model the KRX 1000 lineup.

Key Features
- 999cc liquid-cooled parallel twin tuned for robust low-end torque and smooth pull up high
- CVT with centrifugal clutch for precise throttle modulation and stable engine braking on steep descents
- FOX 2.5 LSC piggyback shocks optimized for larger tires and technical terrain
- 32" Maxxis Roxxzilla rock-crawling tires (sticky compound) on 15" beadlock wheels
- Broadened stance for increased lateral stability and better front-wheel visibility over obstacles
- Heavy-duty HMW protection: 3/8" skid plates plus 1/4" A-arm and trailing-arm guards
- WARN VRX 45-S winch (4,500 lb) with synthetic rope, waterproof sealing, and integrated controls
- Selectable 4WD with front diff-lock and switchable power modes
- Roomy cabin with high-back seats, speed-sensitive EPS, and a color-matched KQR roof
- Signature styling: Matte Dark Beige / Brownish Orange with color-matched suspension accents

What Makes the Rock Edition Different from Other KRX 1000 Models
- Purpose-built rubber: factory 32" Maxxis Roxxzilla (sticky) tires vs. general all-terrain fitments
- Wider track feel: wheel offset broadens the stance for extra stability and precise wheel placement
- Strengthened hardware: upsized wheel bearings, hubs, and ball joints for rock-crawling loads
- Recovery ready: integrated WARN VRX 45-S winch and front/rear tow hooks from the factory
- Undercarriage armor: thicker HMW skid plates and molded guards to reduce snagging on obstacles
- Exclusive look: distinctive two-tone colorway and matching components unique to the Rock Edition

Compared To Competitive Side-By-Sides
It's remarkably hard to compare the Teryx KRX 1000 Rock Edition to other models because it is really the only one in it segment with a dedicated "rock" edition currently. Polaris dropped its dedicated Trails and Rocks RZR XP 1000 edition in 2024 and it has not returned, and the Can-Am models below are the only other dedicated rock editions but neither are direct competitors in the same segment. Hopefully Polaris will come back to a rock model but until then these models are the only competitors close to the the KRX 1000 Rock Edition.
